December 4, 2008 - On Saturday, December 13, three non-profit organizations located on Cottage Grove Road, including the Pinney Branch of the Madison Public Library, will be sponsoring events emphasizing the environmentally-conscious reusing of materials. The Bethesda House of Thrift (201 Cottage Grove Road), the Pinney Branch Library (204 Cottage Grove Road), and the Habitat for Humanity ReStore (208 Cottage Grove Road) will be offering great deals on clothing, books, building materials, and more, along with music, snacks, and specials to remind customers that going green is "good for your wallet and good for the planet."

The Pinney Branch Library will be holding two events on December 13 as a part of "The Green Scene" celebration: a meet-the-artists reception for "People, Places, and Things: An Exhibition of Paintings" from 1 - 3 p.m., featuring works by Joan Canto, Mary Diman, Tom Gilbert and Ching Kung, refreshments, and live music from Dave Foss on hammered dulcimer from 1- 2 p.m. and Turner Collins on Irish harp from 2 - 3 p.m.; and the giant Blustery Days Book Sale from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., with great deals on used books and more.

"People, Places, and Things" runs December 1 - January 3 during regular library hours.
