Starting Monday, February 27th, MG&E Gas will close right turns from South Carroll Street to South Hamilton Street (see attached map).  The South Carroll Street and West Washington Avenue intersection, which has had restricted turning movements for the past two weeks, will be fully open next week. 
 
Also on Monday, February 27th, Intercon construction will begin work on MG&E Electric utilities on the Capitol side of the Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard and Main Street intersection. There will be no access to the Capitol building driveway at Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard for approximately one week.  All other vehicle turning movements within the intersection will remain open.  Intercon will continue installing MG&E underground utilities on East Main Street toward King Street for the next two to three weeks (see attached map). 
 
The work described above is the private utility work that will take place prior to and during the city reconstruction project.  The city reconstruction project work, which will be performed by Capitol Underground, will start on Monday, March 20th.  Additional information about the Capitol Square reconstruction project can be found on the city of Madison website:

Metro Transit buses will be on the Capitol Square, on their normal routes next week.
