Narrative: 

A construction worker suffered serious injuries as a result of a long fall at a construction site.

Engine Co. 3 and Medic 3 were dispatched to N. Ingersoll Street and E. Mifflin Street, where paramedics found the patient lying on the ground on the fourth floor of the site. He was alert and able to tell responders what happened, but he did suffer multiple injuries.

The patient explained he was walking on a catwalk when he fell approximately 30 feet to the concrete below. As paramedics and EMTs began medical care on scene, Ladder Co. 1 was dispatched to help bring the patient down from the fourth floor to ground level using a stokes basket. Engine Co. 3 assisted Medic 3 with patient care on scene and en route to the hospital. The patient rested comfortably and continued talking with paramedics through the duration of his trip to the hospital.

OSHA and Madison Police also responded to the site for further investigation. The fall was determined to be an accident.
