Engine Company 8 was dispatched to an outside fire on the pedestrian bridge crossing East Washington Ave. at Marquette Street Tuesday.

Madison Police officers used a dry chemical fire extinguisher on the item that had been burning up on the bridge. Upon arrival, firefighters identified that item as a “mini-motorcycle” or some type of scooter. They discharged a couple of water extinguishers on the motorcycle to cool it down and examine it for identifiable markings.

Firefighters and MPD were unable to locate an owner or driver. The mini-motorcycle was towed to Schmidt’s salvage yard.
