Fire Department

Two households are displaced following a fire linked to improperly discarded smoking materials.

Ladder Co. 2 and other west side companies responded to the 200 block of Grand Canyon Drive. Firefighters arrived to find fire on the exterior deck of a two-story multi-family building. Members of Ladder Co. 2 stretched a bumper line and began extinguishing the fire as others completed a search of the building. One person was found sleeping inside and was escorted outside by firefighters.  

The fire forced the displacement of the primary unit as well as the neighboring unit next door. The American Red Cross is assisting the four occupants who have been displaced. There were no injuries resulting from this fire.
