Narrative:

Nobody was home Friday when a motor vehicle crashed into a west-side home.

Firefighters, paramedics, and police were called to the 8300 block of Blackwolf Drive for a reported motor vehicle crash involving a tree and a house. Engine Company 12 found a four-door sedan pinned between the tree and the house with significant damage to the passenger-side front end, where the vehicle struck the large trunk of the tree.  The crash also resulted in significant damage to the home.

Paramedics walked the driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, to the ambulance for a medical assessment. The driver refused additional care and did not want to be taken to the hospital.

Firefighters remained on scene to identify and control any hazards. They assessed the structural stability of the home and determined it did not need emergency shoring. No gas or water lines were impacted.

Firefighters turned the scene over to Madison Police, who secured the home, arranged to have a family member pick up the driver, and attempted to contact the homeowner to notify them about the incident.
