Address:
900 block North Avenue
Madison, WI
Narrative:

Ladder Co. 6 was first dispatched for reports of a vehicle fire on the 900 block of North Avenue. The call was upgraded to a full structure fire response upon reports the vehicle was within 10 feet of a building.

Firefighters arrived to find a Ford F350 in the driveway with heavy fire coming from the engine compartment, passenger compartment, and some fire starting to come from the rear bed. The vinyl siding and insulation of the nearby house were melted off, and a construction trailer parked nearby was also affected by the heat.

Ladder Co. 6 immediately pulled their bumper line and began fire attack. They also cooled the house and trailer to put a stop to any fire spread.

Firefighters believe the fire started in the engine compartment, though the exact cause could not be determined. Damages from the fire-damaged vehicle, trailer, and home are estimated around $40,000. Nobody was injured.
