7800 block Twinflower Drive
Madison, WI
Narrative:

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched from their west-side station to the 7800 block of Twinflower Drive after a truck ran into a residential property at a high rate of speed.

Police were on scene when Ladder 7, Engine 7, and Medic 7 arrived. The vehicle involved in the crash had already been towed away, and the driver was in police custody.

Officers told firefighters nobody was hurt but structural damage needed to be assessed.

Inside the garage, a metal support post and some studs were taken out by the truck. Additionally, the garage door was knocked in and lying on top of a car parked inside. There’s a second story above the garage, and the abrupt removal of the support beam was cause for concern.

The MFD’s Heavy Urban Rescue Team (HURT) offered to come over and help shore up the garage. Ladder 7 lifted the garage door off of the car and moved the car out of the garage, clearing the way for the HURT.

The homeowner explained to firefighters that the home had just been sold and was closing in two weeks. She made plans to call her insurance company and begin repairs.
