Narrative:

Two people were taken to the hospital following a crash at the intersection of W. Johnson Street and Broom Street.

One vehicle was resting on its passenger-side door in the middle of the intersection, with one person inside, when crews arrived. Ladder Company 1 and Engine Company 1 stabilized the vehicle and cut the windshield to access the patient, who was held in her seat with the help of her fastened seatbelt. Firefighter/EMTs removed the patient through the windshield, and Medic 4 transported her to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Medic 3 tended to the second patient, who was seated in her vehicle. Although she reported no new injuries resulting from the crash, she was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Firefighters placed oil-absorbing powder over leaked fluids in the intersection, and the scene was turned over to MPD.
