Arrival:
Monday, June 8, 2020 - 3:54pm
Address:
Lake Mendota
Madison, WI
Narrative:

Two people were rescued from Lake Mendota after their jet ski overturned on the water. The Madison Fire Department’s Lake Rescue Team had just completed dive training in another part of the lake when they received the call for two people in distress. The duo were reportedly about a mile and a half from Tenney Park, and they couldn't get back on the jet ski after it took on too much water.

Upon arrival to the area, Lake Rescue 1 located the two individuals and their partially submerged jet ski. Both were wearing life jackets. They climbed aboard the Lake Rescue Team’s boat. Both reported they were doing well and did not need medical assistance.

UW Lifesaving, also on scene, secured the jet ski to their boat and towed it to Warner Park. Lake Rescue 1 followed, and the two were returned to shore by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
