Two Injured In East Washington Avenue Crash
Madison, WI
An attempt to avoid a collision with another vehicle led to a collision with a building along East Washington Avenue, leaving two injured.
A sedan occupied by two people was traveling eastbound on E. Washington Avenue as another vehicle attempted to turn south on to Patterson Street, nearly causing a crash involving the two vehicles. To avoid a collision, the eastbound travelers veered to the right, striking a communications box that controls the traffic lights at the intersection and skimming the side of a nearby building currently under renovation. The car came to a rest underneath the scaffolding and suffered major front-end and windshield damage.
Both occupants were able to get out of the vehicle on their own, and both were treated by paramedics and taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
