E. Washington Ave. / Pawling St.
Madison, WI
Narrative:

Three patients were transported by ambulance from the scene of a three-car crash around noon on Saturday.

Engine Company 3 and Medic 3 responded to the intersection of East Washington Ave. and Pawling Street. Two vehicles were in the intersection and one was on the sidewalk when responders arrived on scene. A light pole was struck and it took down a power line spanning across East Washington, posing a hazard to all individuals and vehicles involved.

Firefighter/EMTs and paramedics soon recognized there were three patients in need of emergency medical services, and two additional ambulances were called in. Madison Police assisted with traffic control while MFD tended to the patients. The vehicles were moved off the road, and MGE came to cut the power line that had temporarily shut down all lanes of traffic on East Washington.

Two adults and one 9-year-old child were treated and transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
