Tuesday, January 23, 2018 - 5:47pm
Address:
2100 block Lake Point Drive
Madison, WI
Narrative:

A Lake Point Drive resident began pre-heating the oven but forgot to check to make sure the oven was empty before turning it on. Ladder Company 6 was called over to check it out when the occupant noticed excessive amounts of smoke coming from the oven. Upon opening the oven, she found plastic and brats from last night’s dinner melting inside.

Ladder 6 arrived and confirmed there was no active fire, and the problems were contained inside the oven, where firefighters found melted plastic and an over-cooked brat. No other hazards were found.

The crew ventilated the residence before returning to service.
