Arrival:
Monday, February 18, 2019 - 9:17pm
Address:
7000 block Tree Lane
Madison, WI
Narrative:

An occupant at an apartment complex on Tree Lane reported a fire broke out after she plugged her phone charger into an extension cord, then plugged the extension cord into an outlet. The outlet and the plug of the extension cord began to spark, igniting the faux leather couch the cord was resting on.

After unplugging the extension cord from the wall, the occupant put out the fire with water just prior to Ladder Company 2’s arrival. Her cell phone was unaffected by the fire, but the couch cushion suffered an 8-inch burn.

Firefighters removed the damaged couch from the residence at the occupant’s request. Nobody was injured during the incident.
