Fire Department

Engine 8 was dispatched to a reported structure fire on the 3800 block of East Washington Ave. Though they found no fire, the crew did discover extremely light smoke coming from an area between the cement sidewalk and the cement wall of the building. They determined that joint-filling material between the sidewalk and the building was smoldering in the heat. A firefighter doused the area with water to cool it off.
