Fire Department

Firefighters responded to a west-side apartment building following reports of smoke in the hallway. Engine Company 9 was greeted at the door by an occupant who stated he burned a pot full of chicken in his apartment. He escorted firefighters to his apartment, which was filled with moderate smoke and the pot of chicken had already been set outside.

Ladder Company 6 assisted with ventilating the unit, and the air was clear within five minutes.
