Arrival:

Address:
7100 block Tree Lane
Madison, WI 53707
Narrative:

A Tree Lane resident was surprised to come home Thursday evening to find his apartment filled with smoke. After a call to 911, firefighters were dispatched for a possible structure fire.

After being flagged down by the occupant, Ladder Company 2 proceeded to the apartment and found a pot of grease smoking on the stovetop. The apartment was charged with smoke, but there were no flames and no fire extension to the cabinetry. The wall next to the stove was smoke-stained, and smoke did seep into the apartment above.

Firefighters ventilated the apartment and instructed the tenant to inform his landlord about what happened. He was not displaced as a result of the incident.

After double-checking there was no fire extension, Ladder 2 left the scene.
