Narrative:

The cause of a fire at a west side quadruplex is still under investigation.

The Madison Fire Department was called to Coronado Ct. at 1:22 p.m. for a fire in the bedroom. One of the occupants tried unsuccessfully to put out the fire himself.

Firefighters arrived to the scene at 1:29 p.m. and extinguished the fire within three minutes.

Though the fire was relatively small in size, smoke damage to the contents inside the home led investigators to estimate damages at approximately $30,000.

One person was transported by paramedics to the hospital as a precaution.

The Madison Fire Department wishes to remind all residents that if a fire starts inside the home, evacuate immediately and call 911. This allows firefighters to get to the scene sooner and it greatly reduces the chances of injury or death.
