Narrative:
An outside fire was discovered after a passerby noticed "orange glow" and smoke coming from behind a building on Meier Road Saturday night.
Engine Company 14 responded and was directed toward the back of a business. That’s where they found heavy smoke and 10-foot flames burning. Firefighters pulled their bumper line from the fire engine and extinguished the debris, which was mainly comprised of brush and weeds but also contained a piece of construction equipment.
Firefighters could not locate anybody tending to the illegal fire. The Madison Fire Department Fire Investigation Division was made aware of the incident.
