The Madison Fire Department responded to a “flipped car” on the 2500 block of Independence Lane. Upon arrival, Ladder Co. 8 found a minivan on its driver’s side. The driver of the minivan was the lone occupant inside. She reported to firefighters she was not seriously injured but could not get out of the vehicle.

Engine Co. 8 arrived next on scene to provide fire protection as Ladder Co. 8 began to stabilize the vehicle and prepare to extricate the individual trapped inside. After Ladder 8 cut the battery power to the vehicle, Medic 8 entered the vehicle through the rear hatch to confirm no serious injuries.
