Narrative:

One person was assisted out of the top hatch of an elevator at the YWCA after elevator stopped moving.

The elevator was stuck on the 6th floor, and Engine Company 1 split up to address the issue. As the company officer went to the basement with building staff to shut down the power, the remaining three crew members went up to the 6th floor to try to open the elevator doors.

One firefighter went up to the 7th floor and opened the lobby doors there. He was able to access the elevator car and open up the top hatch. The occupant was brought out through the hatch and up to floor level without incident.

Power was left off, and an elevator repair worker was already on scene. Nobody was injured.
