Fire Department

 One family has been displaced after a fire earlier this evening. Madison Fire Department crews responded to the 5000 block of Sheboygan Avenue at approximately 7:38pm. Smoke was seen coming from a window on the first floor and a vent on the roof. Engine 9 was the first crew to arrive and extinguished the fire. Additional crews assisted with ventilation of the apartment complex. The fire’s origin was determined to be in the kitchen area. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.One family has been displaced, Red Cross has been notified for services and no injuries were reported. The family was not home at the time of the fire.
