Narrative:

Engine 10 was dispatched for a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, there was no fire or need for extinguishment. The fire was contained to the interior of the car in the passenger area between the two front seats. The area of origin is in the console area by the cigarette lighter and auxiliary plugs, possibly caused by an electrical shortage. There was a phone charger cord plugged into the auxiliary outlet of the vehicle. There was minor fire damage to the center console area and heavy smoke damage to the interior of the car. The owner of the vehicle stated the only mechanical work done on the vehicle recently was some brake work. She also said she had not been smoking in the vehicle prior to her driving to this location. She drove from her home a couple of blocks from this location. She said she did not smell any smoke or have any indication of a fire when she arrived. She was there for 15 to 25 minutes. When she went to leave, the interior of the vehicle was on fire when she opened the driver's door. A neighbor had a fire extinguisher and extinguished the fire.
