Nobody Injured After Crash Into North Side Credit Union
Madison, WI 53703
The Madison Fire Department was dispatched to the UW Credit Union branch on Northport Drive after a vehicle drove into the facility. Two people were still inside the vehicle when crews arrived. Both occupants denied any injury or need for EMS.
The driver says he was parked in the parking lot. He thought he'd placed his car in 'Reverse,' but it was actually in 'Drive.' When he stepped on the gas, the car lurched forward into the front of the building. There was damage to the brick facade of the building but no actual damage to the framing or support structures.
Everybody inside the credit union reported they were okay. Other than a small crack in the drywall, the interior office at the site of the crash was unaffected.
Madison Police remained on scene as the driver awaited a tow truck.
