City of Madison Fire Department Lake Rescue Team was dispatched to for an ATV that broke through the ice north of Picnic Point on Lake Mendota.

Around 12:30 pm, the 911 Communications Center received a call from a person reporting that he had broken through the ice with his 4-wheeler. He had the proper floatation devices on his ATV and all four wheels were under water.

The Lake Rescue Team launched the air boat to rescue the victim, who was located between Picnic Point and Bishop's Bay. The person was safely brought to shore, with no injuries. 

The owner of the ATV will make arrangements to remove the vehicle.
