Narrative:

Engine Company 4 arrived at the library on Tokay Blvd. at 9:45 a.m. to find two people waving firefighters to a flower bed where a fire extinguisher had already been deployed.

A library employee stated a small patch of mulch had been burning next to the stairway that leads to the library. Though the flames were out, the mulch still clocked in at 100 degrees through a thermal imaging camera. Firefighters applied approximately 10 gallons of water to cool the mulch before overhauling the area.

No other hazards were noted, and there was no damage to the nearby building.
