Arrival:
Wednesday, December 13, 2017 - 11:26am
Address:
800 block Williamson Street
Madison, WI 53703
Narrative:

Firefighters were called to the 800 block of Williamson Street in response to reports of smoke filling an underground parking area.

Crews located the building in question and learned from a bystander that the smoke smell was coming from a rear corner of the parking garage.

Upon investigation, firefighters found a small electrical motor on the back of a heater that had overheated. This caused the plastic shield for the electrical connections to melt and produce smoke.

There was no active fire and the smoke had dissipated prior to Engine Company 3 and Ladder Company 1’s arrival.
