Narrative: 

The Madison Fire Department’s Heavy Urban Rescue Team (HURT) responded to Didion Milling, Inc. in Cambria, WI, overnight at the request of the Cambria Fire Chief to assist in recovery efforts following structural collapse at the facility.
 
The HURT arrived at 12:33 a.m. and began assisting with the search for patients. HURT members also worked with Cambria Fire and Med Flight personnel to rescue a man trapped underneath a train car and piles of rubble. The man was transported from the scene by Med Flight.

MFD was released from Didion Milling, Inc. just before 6:00 a.m. Columbia County officials remain in command of this ongoing incident.

The Madison Fire Department’s Heavy Urban Rescue Team, based out of Fire Station 8 on Madison’s east side, is comprised of 57 total members. The HURT provides regional response to incidents requiring special rescue efforts, including entrapment, building collapse, high- or low-angle rescue, and confined space rescue.
