Fire Department

Shortly before 7pm Friday night the 911 call center received calls for a garage fire on Nevada Road on Madison’s north side. Arriving fire crews reported heavy fire involvement in the detached garage and that the fire was spreading into the house.
A fire attack was quickly started by Engine 10 and the fire was extinguished within three minutes. Crews were able to minimize damage to the house but there was extensive damage to the garage and its contents. There were no vehicles in the garage at the time of the fire and no people were at home.
Investigators are beginning to look into the cause of the fire and there are no estimates of the cost of the damage at this time.
