Narrative: 

Firefighters were dispatched to a downtown apartment building and immediately noted the smell of burned food upon entry. Ladder Company 1 found smoke on the first floor, notably centered around one apartment in particular. Firefighters pounded on the door, finally waking up the occupant inside. Upon entering the unit, firefighters found a pan of macaroni and cheese left on an active stovetop. 

Firefighters turned off the burner and filled the pot with water. After ventilating the unit, the occupant was able to return and go back to sleep.
