Narrative: 

On Saturday, July 23rd shortly before 8:00pm, lightning struck a home on the 5000 block of Tree Ridge Trail. Firefighters entered the single family home and evacuated the residents and several pets. Fire crews located a light switch and drywall area with significant charring. Smoke was observed by firefighters from two roof vents. THe roof was accessed and opened. Smoke and fire were discovered in the attic area over the garage and foyer of the residence. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. Heat, smoke and fire damage to the attic area, including charring to the light switch and drywall in entryway.

Estimated dollar loss is $30,000.

Homeowners stayed with neighbors until repairs are completed.
