Narrative: 

A passerby on a hiking path at Prairie Ridge Park noticed a tree stump that appeared to be on fire. He was concerned the fire may spread and called 911.
 
Ladder 7 responded to the area. The man directed firefighters toward the tree stump, which was still smoldering with hot embers. They chopped the stump into smaller pieces and poured water on it to extinguish the embers.
 
Firefighters note that a controlled burn took place in the woods earlier in the day.
