Address:
6700 block Raymond Road
Madison, WI
Narrative:

The Madison Fire Department Hazardous Incident Team (HIT) responded to Madtown Chicken ‘n’ Fish (6718 Raymond Road) upon reports that a dumpster of used cooking oil had tipped over. The spill released 100-150 gallons of cooking oil throughout the parking lot, also affecting the nearby Kwik Trip which shares a lot with the restaurant.

It is unknown how the dumpster, which measures approximately 5 ft. x 6 ft. in size, was knocked over. Ladder Co. 7 and Engine Co. 7 were able to keep the entire spill contained to the parking area. Crews used absorbent powders known as Oil Dri and Peat Sorb to soak up the spilled oil. Additionally, a cleanup crew from Kwik Trip also arrived to take over cleanup operations.
