Fire Department

The Madison Fire Department was called to a possible vehicle fire. On its way to the scene, Engine 5 was notified that what was actually on fire was a round baler and a bale of hay on fire. Firefighters arrived to find the bale on fire in a hay field, and the round baler was on fire in the street. Engine 5’s crew quickly extinguished both fires before making contact with the operator of the baler. He believes the fire was ignited by a belt that came off inside the baler.
