Saturday, June 6, 2015 - 10:22pm
Address:
2600 Camden Rd.
Madison, WI
Narrative:

An eastside resident had just set down a load of groceries on the stovetop before going downstairs to pick up some more. When arriving back at the apartment with the next load of groceries, they found flames atop their stove reaching the height of the hood fan. The residents entered the apartment and used water from the sink to extinguish the fire.

Meanwhile, Engine 11, Ladder 8, and other units were dispatched to the scene. Neighbors on site directed firefighters toward what they believed to be the location of the smoke and fire. Fire personnel doused smoldering items, moved debris, and began to ventilate the building. Nobody was injured.

The Madison Fire Department wishes to remind the public not to enter the scene of an active fire. Instead, quickly exit the area and call 911 right away to report the location and nature of the fire.
