Address:
5800 block Raymond Rd.
Madison, WI
Narrative:

The residents of a Raymond Road apartment were advised to clean their stovetop burners Sunday night after firefighters were called for a small cooking fire.

One woman was preparing flank steak when a piece of aluminum foil, which had been placed in the reservoir below the burner, caught fire. Upon noticing the flames, the woman turned off the burner and removed the frying pan. She was able to extinguish the flames right away.

There’s no fire damage to the stove, but a build-up of grease in the reservoirs below each of the burners was cause for concern. Firefighters recommended that the stove not be used again until it’s sufficiently cleaned.
