Firefighters responded to the 5400 block of Katie Lane after grease from a grill caught on fire and melted the vinyl siding of the house. Nobody was injured. The resident used baking soda to put out the fire. When Engine Company 8 arrived, they removed some of the siding and cooled down the materials with water to prevent a fire from rekindling.
