Narrative: 

On Tuesday evening at 6:54pm, dispatch received a call describing heavy smoke from a residence on the 400 block of Galileo Drive on the East side of Madison. A full fire response was initiated with Engine 8 arriving on scene at 6:58pm. The actual location of the fire was determined to be the 6100 block of Dominion Drive, around the corner from the first reported location.
Crews arrived on scene to heavy smoke and a fully involved garage fire which extended into the house. Attacking the flames from both the front and rear, crews reported that the fire was extinguished at 7:05pm.
A resident had already evacuated when crews arrived along with a dog and a cat. The two remaining cats were found unharmed once the fire was extinguished. There are no injuries reported. The fire caused damage to the garage, laundry room and kitchen.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
