Engine Company 1 responded to a downtown parking ramp Saturday afternoon when an elevator stalled, trapping four people inside. Firefighters arrived to the Southeast Campus Parking Ramp on the 300 block of N. Lake Street to find the elevator stalled on the 6th floor. Engine 1 ascended to the 6th floor and accessed the elevator power switch on the car itself. All four occupants were safely removed, and nobody reported illness or injury. The elevator was placed out of service.
