Fire Department

Several apartments were impacted by flooding due to a broken sprinkler pipe found in the attic space of an east side apartment building.

Engine Co. 13 was dispatched to the 5800 block of Charon Lane for a fire alarm activation. The alarm panel indicated waterflow on an upper floor. Firefighters located the source and shut down the sprinkler system. Residential units directly below the leak were most impacted while other units in the building were unaffected.

Occupants of the unaffected units were able to return to their homes. Others found alternate places to stay, and property management established a fire watch for the building until alarm systems are repaired.
