Arrival:
Wednesday, October 10, 2018 - 9:25pm
Address:
1600 block Lake Point Drive
Madison, WI
Narrative:

Ladder Company 6 responded along with a full structure fire complement to the 1600 block of Lake Point Drive for a report of smoke on the first floor from an unknown source. Upon arrival, Ladder Company 6 found one window on the first floor cracked open and a heavy haze in the apartment along with the strong odor of burned food.

The door to the apartment was locked, and there was no immediate answer when crews knocked. The crew split up, sending some firefighters back to the window, where they could see an occupant inside on the couch. They coached that individual to get up and go open the door.

Firefighters determined she was heavily intoxicated, and paramedics evaluated her for any additional medical problems. She was uninjured.

Ladder Company 2 retrieved two blackened, burned pizzas out of the oven and turned the oven off. The apartment and adjacent hallway were ventilated, and the occupant was transported to Detox by MPD.
