Firefighters temporarily cut gas service to a downtown building after a delivery truck backed into the meter, breaking it off. Engine Co. 1 responded to 244 W. Gilman Street and shut off the gas from the exterior. Building occupants were notified about the service disruption as MGE was called to the property. With gas shut down, there were no imminent hazards remaining, and MGE arrived to take over repairs.
