Address:
1300 block N. Sherman Avenue
Madison, WI
Narrative:

The Madison Fire Department responded to the 1300 block of N. Sherman Avenue for a camper on fire. Upon arrival, Engine Co. 10 found a large camper in a driveway with flames coming out the windows. Flames were beginning to impinge on the soffit of the home situated next to the camper. Someone was already on scene trying to wet the house and the camper using a garden hose.

Firefighters pulled an attack line and extinguished the fire before it could spread to the home. There was no one inside the camper at the time, and nobody was injured.

The cause of the fire is undetermined. Investigators could not rule out the possibility of an electrical fire due to a light being left on for a long period of time and/or the possibility of discarded smoking materials being left inside the camper.
