Dispatch:
Thursday, October 12, 2017 - 6:43pm
Arrival:
Thursday, October 12, 2017 - 6:49pm
Address:
700 block Ruskin Street
Madison, WI
Narrative:

A slip of a ladder created a natural gas leak at a building on Ruskin Street. One man there says he was working on the heater vent when his ladder slipped and knocked off the natural gas line leading to the heater inside the building.

Engine Company 10 responded and could smell the natural gas from the outside as they approached the garage, and they could hear gas leaking inside the building. Firefighters shut off the main gas line feeding the entire structure, which put a stop to the leak. With the garage door left open, gas levels dropped as the area ventilated naturally.

MGE arrived to address the necessary repairs and restore gas service to the building.
