Fire Department

The Madison Fire Department was dispatched to a possible structure fire on High Point Rd. A maintenance worker on site informed Ladder 2’s crew that there might have been a cooking problem. Firefighters determined that there was no active fire— rather, there had been overcooked food in the microwave oven. Firefighters found melted and burned plastic inside of it and removed the microwave from the building. The resident reported she had forgotten she used the microwave to make biscuits. Using a thermal imaging camera, they inspected the area to make sure there were no other fire threats in the apartment.
