Narrative: 

Firefighters were asked to respond to a garbage fire behind a home on the 1000 block of Troy Drive. When Engine Company 8 arrived, they found a fire that contained spent building materials and lumber. The fire burned directly on the ground with no form of containment around it.
 
The homeowner was informed he was not allowed to burn materials in this manner, and he was provided a copy of the City’s rules pertaining to outdoor burning.
 
He was also informed that building materials can be disposed of at the City’s yard waste drop-off sites on Sycamore Avenue or Badger Road.
 
Firefighters used the man’s garden hose to extinguish the fire before leaving the home.
