Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to a north side home after a woman fell while shoveling the snow.

Engine Company 10 greeted the woman, who was sitting in the snow on the sidewalk when they arrived. She said she wasn’t injured-- she just needed help getting up. Firefighters assisted the woman to her feet, and she hugged each of them, thanking them for their help.

Engine 10 made sure she and her husband got back inside to warm up and assured them they need not worry about shoveling again today. They grabbed the shovel, cleared the rest of the snow, and spread sand on the sidewalk and driveway before returning to the firehouse for the next call.
