Narrative:

The MFD Fire Investigation Team is looking what caused a fire at 910 Oscar Avenue, the site of the former Oscar Meyer headquarters.

Engine Co. 10 was dispatched to the building to investigate a commercial fire alarm. Upon arrival, firefighters smelled smoke and upgraded the call to a full structure fire response— adding additional engine and ladder companies, a medic unit, and Command Car 31 to the call. A security guard on site located the fire on the 6th floor and exhausted three fire extinguishers attempting to put it out. Engine Co. 10 knocked down the remaining fire with their water can extinguishers.

The security guard was evaluated by paramedics for minor injuries but was not transported to a hospital. Maple Bluff Fire Department assisted MFD with ventilation as several fans were needed to clear the property of smoke. The fire investigation is ongoing at this time.
