Update: 

This fire resulted in approximately $100,000 worth of damage. Due to the extent of damage, the specific cause of the fire is undetermined. Improperly discarded smoking materials is a suspected cause; however, Fire Investigators could not rule out the possibility of an electrical fault involving a nearby electrical outlet and/or light fixture.

Narrative: 

Two people are displaced following a fire on the 600 block of Crandall Street.

Neighbors dialed 911 reporting tall flames showing from the back of the house. Engine Co. 4 arrived first on scene. As they approached the home, they confirmed with an occupant that everybody made it out of the house safely. The rear porch was fully involved with heavy smoke flames. Upon knocking down the porch fire, Engine Co. 4 forced entry into the home, where fire had extended to the interior. Final knockdown was declared at 11:46 a.m.

The Fire Investigation remains is on scene to continue its investigation into the origin and cause of the fire. Damage estimates are not yet available.
