Arrival:

Address:
200 block N. Carroll Street
Madison, WI
Narrative:

It’s unknown what caused some insulation to catch fire between the Orpheum Theater and a downtown parking ramp, but no damage occurred on account of the fire.

Ladder Company 1 responded along with a full structure fire complement to the 200 block of N. Carroll Street Friday evening. A City of Madison Parking Utility officer led firefighters to the second floor of the parking ramp, where the crew observed smoke coming from the space between the the ramp and the Orpheum Theater.

Ladder Company 1 and Engine Company 1 hoisted a hose line to the third floor and applied a combination of foam and water into the space and ultimately extinguished the fire. The insulation between the buildings was the only flammable material present, and investigators could not locate an ignition source. There were no signs of damage or smoke inside the Orpheum Theater.
